Recipe: Pineapple Paradise

Try steamed pineapple served as a desert in pineapple halves.


1 large sized pineapple, cut into two halves
½ cup of powdered sugar, few strands of saffron
100 gms fatless sponge cake
1 tsp cinnamon powder
2 sheets of aluminum foil to cover two pineapple halves completely
2 tsp honey to garnish


Scoop out the halves of pineapple.

Chop scooped out pineapple into small, fine pieces.

Mix powdered sugar, saffron, and cinnamon powder well with pineapple pieces and crumbled fatless sponge cake.

Place these pieces into pineapple halves and cover with aluminum foil. Heat a tawa.

Pour ½ cup of water on tawa and place covered halves of pineapple on heated tawa.

Steam pineapple halves on tawa for 10 to 15 minutes.

When done unwrap the foil and serve hot in pineapple half garnished by honey.
