Vrat: Makhanna Kheer

Relish this mouth-watering kheer.


100gms Makhanas
4 tsp ghee
5 cups milk
4tbsp sugar or as desired
1tbsp shredded almonds
1tbsp grated pistachios
1tsp green cardamom seeds (crushed)


Crush makhanas.
Fry them in ghee over a low heat for about 5 minutes.
Add milk and sugar.
Stir well.
Leave to simmer for about 1 hour, until milk reduces to half.
During this period stir from time to time so that milk does not stick to the bottom of pan.
Mix almonds and pistachios.
Sprinkle crushed cardamom.
Serve cold.
