`Black Swan` bosses comes to Portman`s rescue
London: Hollywood actress Natalie Portman is being accused of using a dance double for her role as a ballerina in the `Black Swan` but the bosses of the movie have come to her rescue, saying, she did most of the dance sequences.
The film bosses at Fox Searchlight have issued a statement to clear the air on the alleged rumours on Portman`s dancing skills on the psychological thriller for which she bagged the Oscar for the Best Actress, reported a website.
"We were fortunate to have Sarah there to cover the more complicated dance sequences and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did. However, Natalie herself did
most of the dancing featured in the final film," reads the statement.
Portman, 29, was accused of using a body double for most of her complicated ballet dancing scenes by the stand-in American Ballet Theatre dancer Sarah Lane.
"Of the full body shots, I would say five per cent are Natalie... I do want people to know that you cannot absolutely become a professional ballet dancer in a year and a half no
matter how hard you work. I`ve been doing this for 22 years," said Lane.
Portman herself is yet to comment on the controversy.
