New Delhi: Daniel Craig-starrer `The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo` will not be released in India after the Censor Board of Film Certification wanted certain explicit scenes to be blurred.
The Hollywood film`s producers Sony Pictures have reportedly decided not to compromise with the content and have scrapped plans to release the film here.
"The examining committee of the Censor Board, as per guidelines, asked that certain nude scenes in the film be blurred. The producers have the option of appealing once again after the initial decision was given by the Board," CBFC official JP Singh told PTI.
But it seems the producers have already decided to not release the film in India at all.
"The producers haven`t communicated anything to the Board yet so we do not know whether the film is releasing in India or not," Singh added.
Producers Sony Pictures were unavailable for comment. `The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo`, also starring Rooney Mara, is based on the book of the same name by Swedish author Stieg Larsson about a journalist`s search for a missing woman.
The film, directed by David Fincher, released in the UK and US last month and has won five Academy Award nominations.
