`Man of Steel` sequel to have Superman battling with Batman

Los Angeles: `Man of Steel` sequel is all set to have two DC Comics superheroes - Superman and Batman - facing off against each other, reveals director Zack Snyder.

Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Clark Kent and Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also return for a Batman and Superman tentpole, said the Hollywood Reporter.

"I`m so excited to begin working again with Henry Cavill in the world we created, and I can`t wait to expand the DC Universe in this next chapter," Snyder said in a statement.

"Let`s face it, it`s beyond mythological to have Superman and our new Batman facing off, since they are the greatest Super Heroes in the world," Snyder said at Comic-Con.

The film will be scripted by `Man of Steel`s David Goyer along with Snyder.

`Man of Steel` producer and `Dark Knight` trilogy director Christopher Nolan will executive produce along with Emma Thomas, Benjamin Melniker and Michael E Uslan.

"Superman and Batman together on the big screen is a dream come true for DC fans everywhere. All of us at DC Entertainment could not be more excited for Zack`s continuing vision for the DC Universe," said Diane Nelson, DC Entertainment president, said in a statement.

The tentpole is expected to hit theatres in 2015.
