3D movie `Megamind` tops US box office

Los Angeles: DreamWorks` 3-D animation film `Megamind` topped the US box office with an estimated $47.6 million earnings.

`Due Date`, by director Todd Phillips, came at the second spot with an estimated earnings of $33.5 million.

"It was a huge weekend in general, and `Due Date` did fabulously," aceshowbiz.com quoted Warner Bros exective vice president distribution Jeff Goldstein as saying.

The third spot went to `For Colored Girls`. A movie adaptation of the 1975 play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf", the movie grossed an estimated $20.1 million.

`Red` and `Saw 3D` wrapped up the top five with an estimated earning of $8.8 million and $8.2 million respectively.
