Melbourne: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone will co-star in an upcoming action flick ‘The Tomb’, according to reports.
According to film studio Summit Entertainment, Stallone will play a structural security expert and Schwarzenegger an inmate, in the film about a thrilling prison escape.
The former California governor previously teamed up with Stallone for a cameo in ‘The Expendables’ and ‘The Expendables 2,’ which will be released in August.
Filming for the upcoming movie, to be directed by Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom, will begin in Louisiana this spring.
“I am thrilled to be making ‘The Tomb’ with two film icons -- Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger,” the Daily Telegraph quoted producer Mark Canton as saying in a statement.
“It is the perfect pairing for this high octane thriller ... I have been working long and hard with Summit to bring them together for this dynamic project,” he said.
Co-incidentally, both Schwarzenegger and Stallone recently ran into each other for shoulder surgery at the same hospital.
The ‘Terminator’ star took to his WhoSay account on Wednesday, to post a photo that captures the two of them happily chatting while lying shirtless in their hospital beds.
In the picture, Schwarzenegger has bandage covering his right shoulder and has his right arm in a sling, while Stallone is seen with an IV in his hand.
In the caption of the photo, he wrote, “After all the action, stunts and physical abuse shooting ‘The Expendables 2’ and ‘The Last Stand’, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder.”
“Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery,” he wrote.
He went on to share his excitement in re-teaming with Stallone on ‘The Tomb’.
“Now we’re ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb. #greattobeback,” he wrote.
