London: Director Baz Luhrmann played Jay-Z rap tracks onto the sets of ‘The Great Gatsby’ to boost his cast`s energy during shooting.
The 49-year-old filmmaker put his creative twist while filming the F Scott Fitzgerald`s classic tale which stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, reported Daily Star. The movie is set in the posh Hamptons area of New York in the 1920s and Luhrmann played the rapper`s songs at full blast while his stars acted out their scenes. "On my first day he had Jay-Z pumped up full and we did the entire scene with Jay-Z in our ear on full blast while acting, and it was just so liberating," said Isla Fisher, who plays Myrtle Wilson in the movie.
