Breck Eisner to direct `The Karate Kid 2`

Los Angeles: Filmmaker Breck Eisner is all set to direct `The Karate Kid 2`. The 43-year-old director, who last served behind the lens for 2010`s horror film `The Crazies`, has been tapped by Sony Pictures to direct the sequel that will bring back Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan together.

The first movie directed by Harald Zwart was a remake of the 1984 film of the same name. It followed a young boy from Detroit, Michigan who moved to Beijing, China with his mother and got involved in altercation with the neighbourhood bully. The plot of `The Karate Kid 2` is yet to be announced. Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff are expected to pen the screenplay of the film.
