London: `Bond` star Daniel Craig, who is presently free following suspension of production of the 23rd `007` film, is reportedly all set to star as a journalist in `The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo`.
A deal has not yet been struck, but a source told Deadline.com that producers are in talks with the 42-year-old actor,to join the cast of the adaptation of the crime novel.
Stieg Larsson`s book `The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo`, which was given a Swedish film adaptation earlier this year, tells the story of investigative reporter Mikael and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, researching a family history for a wealthy recluse.
The project will be helmed by David Fincher and scripted by Steven Zaillian and the duo said that the film will be a completely different take on the story from the Swedish version.
Although, the filmmaker wants to cast an unknown face to play Lisbeth, a number of stars including Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman have already being linked to the role.
