Dakota is a gifted actress: Don Johnson

Los Angeles: Don Johnson has no plans to watch his daughter Dakota`s upcoming role in erotic film `Fifty Shades of Grey` but the actor feels she is a talented actress. Dakota has signed on to play the female lead Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film adaptation of E L James` bestseller `Fifty Shades of Grey`. The `Miami Vice` star, 64, feels `Fifty Shades` is just a part of Dakota`s journey as an actress. "This is the family business. This is what we do, and I am absolutely certain that Dakota will take a piece of material and a character which a lot of people might imagine could be inappropriate in some ways and turn it into something spectacular," Don reportedly said. Dakota is his daughter with ex Melanie Griffith. "Speaking like a proud father and a seasoned professional, I can tell you that she is a gifted, gifted actress and this will just be one part in a long line of tremendous performances in her career," Don said. The actor, however, said he will not watch the film simply because he is not into romances. "I probably will not see it just because it`s not a movie I would see. I`ve never seen The Vampire Diaries, I`ve never seen Twilight. It`s in a category of films that I just wouldn`t be interested in," he had said.
