London: Bond actor Daniel Craig has been roped in to play lead in the American adaptation of Stieg Larsson famous mystery novel `The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo`.
The actor will play the role of journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the movie, which will release in December 2011, followed by two other movies based on Larsson`s Millennium trilogy.
The film has already been turned into a movie in Sweden.
The 42-year-old British actor, best known for the rol of James Bond in `Casino Royale` and `Quantum of Solace`, has signed up for all three movies, as reported.
The shooting for the film is scheduled to start in Sweden once Craig finishes working on his `Cowboys and Aliens.`
The actress opposite Craig is still to be finalised, with possibilities believed to be Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska and Rooney Mara.
The film is being directed by David Fincher and Producer Scott Rudin.
