Drew Barrymore says no to married characters

London: Hollywood beauty Drew Barrymore says that she will never get married on-screen as she does not understand the concept of marriage.

The 35-year-old actress, who established herself with romantic comedies like `The Wedding Singer` and `Luck You`, said that she likes the genre but wants a realistic representation of love, a news website reported.

"I need rom-coms at the end of a bad day, a nice happy ending and a fairytale. On the other hand, I like movies that are very grounded in reality but still maintain their comedy. I`m not at a place in my life where I want to play a character who says, `I just have to get married!," said the actress.

Barrymore who is single after ending an on-off relationship with Justin Long, says that she does not understand films which revolve around weddings.

"I swear to God, with some of these romantic comedies, these women are being shot with steroids, and I feel like they`ll eat the husband alive on their wedding day. It just terrifies me," said Barrymore.

Her next film `Going The Distance` revolves around the hardships of a long distance relationship.

"This movie asks the question, `How do you keep the job and the guy?` That is a question I`m interested in discussing, not like, `I`m going to rip your hair out because you stole my wedding dress`. I don`t care about that," said the actress.
