Eva Longoria to play Billy Bob Thornton`s mistress on screen

Los Angeles: `Desperate Housewives` star Eva Longoria has signed on to play Billy Bob Thornton`s battered wife in the comedy `The Baytown Disco`.

Longoria has been cast in the film as a gorgeous woman who convinces three redneck brothers to rescue her son from what she calls an abusive ex-husband, reported Variety online. The film written and directed by Barry Battles will be the fourth film in Longoria`s return to movies after a three-year-long hiatus and will see her opposite Angelina Jolie`s ex-husband. The 36-year-old`s other three projects are `Cristiada`, about the Mexican Cristeros War, `Without Men` another Latin America-set war film and `Days of Grace` a drama that takes place in Mexico. Longoria`s career graph has made a steady climb ever since her much publicised divorce from basketball player Tony Parker last year. The actress recently released a cook-book and became the highest paid actress in US TV after signing a deal worth USD 19.5 million for the next season of `Desperate Housewives`. PTI
