'Frozen' becomes most successful animated film ever with $1.07b earnings

Washington: Disney's ' Frozen' has become the most successful animated movie ever after raking in 1.07 billion dollars this weekend.Reportedly, the movie, which has grossed over 650 million dollars in 27 territories over the past few months, left behind 'Toy Story 3', which was the previous record holder for highest grossing animated film.

The film, which is loosely based on fairytale 'The Snow Queen' by Hans Christian Anderson, has been a huge success worldwide and was the first non-Pixar 3D animation from Disney to win the Oscar.
