New York: The ‘Hangover II’ has set a new record at the US Box Office grossing 31.6 million dollars on the very first day of its release in the category of R-rated comedy flicks.
The sequel crossed the previous record holder `Sex And The City,` which opened on a Friday in 2008 with 26.7 million dollars. It is being estimated that if the `Hangover` pace holds, the movie may earn up to 85 million dollars over the three-day weekend and a whopping 125 million dollars over the five-day Memorial Day holiday, including Thursday. The film starring Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis has earned a 33 pc rating on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to 79 pc for the 2009 original. "It doesn’t get much better than this," the New York Post quoted an executive at producer Warner Bros. as telling the Deadline. ANI
