James Cameron goes for `Fantastic Voyage`

Los Angeles: James Cameron is uniting with his `Avatar` scriptwriter Laeta Kalogridis for the remake of 1966 sci-fi classic `Fantastic Voyage`. The Oscar-winning filmmaker will produce the long-in-development project, which has seen Shane Salerno and Cormac and Marianne Wibberly among the scribes who have attempted to tackle the script.

The story is about a team of scientists who are shrunk to atomic size and sent in a miniature submarine inside the body of a scientist to save his life. Kalogridis, who wrote ``Shutter Island`` for Martin Scorsese, was involved in the writing of ``Avatar``, for which she received an executive producer credit.
