Beijing: A team of ‘Titanic’ director James Cameron, also behind the success of sci-fi blockbuster ‘Avatar’, will assist in shooting ‘The Art of War’, a 3D movie about an ancient Chinese strategist and philosopher.
Organisers of the Second Beijing International Film Festival said an agreement will be signed during Cameron`s appearance at the festival to be held in Beijing April 23-28, a leading daily has reported. Cameron`s team is expected to provide technical support to the 3D shooting. ‘The Art of War’ is estimated to cost around $80-100 million. At the festival, Cameron will speak on a forum and talk with Chinese filmmakers on other cooperation plans, the organisers said. Actor Keanu Reeves is also expected to attend. The 3-D release of Cameron`s 1997 classic ‘Titanic’ grossed $67 million in China in six days, compared to the film`s 10-day box office in North America of just $36 million. IANS
