Javier Bardem to play villain in new Bond flick

London: Actor Javier Bardem had confirmed that he would be playing the role of a villain in the upcoming James Bond movie.

The 42-year-old actor, who won the Oscar for the best supporting actor for his portrayal of a hitman and played a bad man for the last time in 2007 in the movie ‘No Country for Old Men’, confirmed his casting.

“I’m very excited because my parents took me to watch the [Bond] movies and I saw all of them, so to play that is going to be fun,” the BBC quoted him as telling US news programme Nightline.

“They chose me to play this man, but I cannot give you many details,” he added.

The 23rd Bond film officially called Bond23 is due to hit the theatre next autumn.
