New Delhi:Johnny Depp has questioned unreasonable dependence of humans on technology.
Depp, who will be seen in the role of a technology-obsessed scientist in his next movie `Transcendence,` said that people have been fighting wars over `my god is better than your god` for thousands of years and in the 21st century, he thinks that it`s appropriate to look at the way human beings worship technology and what that could mean for the future of humans, reportedly.
The 50-year-old actor said "Whether you`re on the side of technology or ecology, a pacifist or an extremist, most people have very definite opinions, and the question of how far we should allow our dependence on computers to go is a question that needs to be asked."
Johnny Depp`s latest film has him portraying the role of Dr. Will Caster, an artificial intelligence researcher who strives to create a machine that possesses sentience and collective intelligence. But extremists against technological advancement target him, unknowingly driving him toward his goal.
