Kevin Bacon to star in `X-Men: First Class`
London: Kevin Bacon is being lined up to play the main villain in the much awaited X-Men prequel `First Class`.
The `Mystic River` actor is in negotiations with Twentieth Century Fox to play the bad guy in the film which traces back the history of the mutant superheroes.
The 52-year-old actor`s intended role is still under wraps, Contactmusic reported.
`First Class` will narrate the story of Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr, two close friends, discovering their powers for the first time and working together with mutants, before they took the names Professor X and Magneto and became arch enemies.
Bacon will co-star in the film with British actor James McAvoy and German-Irish actor Michael Fassbender who will portray Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively.
The movie, to be directed by Matthew Vaughn, will also feature actors Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Caleb Landry Jones (Banshee), Alice Eve (Emma Frost) and Lucas Till (Havoc).
The prequel will begin filming next month and is due to release in June next year.
