Kevin Costner drops out of `Django Unchained`

London: Actor Kevin Costner has dropped out of Quentin Tarantino`s `Django Unchained` due to scheduling conflicts and personal reasons.

The 56-year-old actor was set to take on the role of Ace Woody, a sadistic trainer of slaves who pits fighters against one another in the cowboy movie, reported Contactmusic.

Costner is currently working on the Superman reboot `Man of Steel` where he is playing Clark Kent`s adoptive father Jonathan Kent.

He also starring and producing TV miniseries `The Hatfields and McCoys` and due to time constraints the two month shooting schedule for `Django Unchained` is difficult.

The film follows the story of slave-turned-bounty hunter Django played by Jamie Foxx who takes on villains Ace and Calvin Candie, Leonardo DiCaprio, the owners of a Mississippi club and ranch in order to free his enslaved wife.

`Django Unchained` will begin production in November.
