Leonardo Dicaprio in talks for lead role in ‘Django Unchained’

Washington: It has emerged that Leonardo DiCaprio is in talks to play the lead role in Quentin Tarantino`s forthcoming movie `Django Unchained`.

The `Inception` star is negotiating his role of an evil ranch owner Calvin Candie in the spaghetti western-style film, while Will Smith has apparently dropped out of the running to play slave Django.

According to sources, Leonardo``s character would play the ‘charming but ruthless’ owner of club Candyland, where female slaves are sex objects and the men are forced to fight to death.

Talking about the other cast, Idris Elba, Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker are now in contention to take on the titular role, reports Contactmusic.
