Los Angeles: Irish actor Liam Neelson has decided to opt out of Steven Spielberg`s biopic on legendary American President Abraham Lincoln.
The 58-year-old actor, who has for been the leading man-in-waiting has bailed on the project after having been attached for years, Digital Spy reported.
Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States from March 1861 until his assassination in April 1865. He successfully led his country through its greatest internal crisis, the American Civil War, preserving the Union and ending slavery.
"I`m not actually playing Lincoln now. I was attached to it for a while, but it`s now I`m past my sell-by date," Neeson said.
Spielberg is currently busy working on the `Adventures Of Tintin` and `War Horse` which has pushed the biopic on the backburner.
