Lindsay Lohan eyeing Mary Jane`s role in `Spider-Man` reboot
Los Angeles: Troubled star Lindsay Lohan wants to play Mary Jane in the fourth `Spider-Man` film, which will focus on the younger days of the web-slinging hero.
Lohan, who was recently released from jail for violating probation term, is reportedly trying to get an audition for the role, previously essayed by Kirsten Dunst.
The 24-year-old beauty is interested in the part and her friends who are also `Spider-Man` fans have asked her to go after the role, the Ace Showbiz reported.
But there is a very small chance for the actress as reports suggest that the character of Peter Parker`s love interest will not return in the movie.
Instead, she is reportedly going to be replaced by another character Gwen Stacy.
The fourth film stars young actor Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Marc Webb is directing the film and the script is written by James Vanderbilt.
Lohan stars as April Benz in the star-studded action movie `Machete` which is going to hit US theaters on September 3.
