Michelle Williams demanded audition before accepting role of Monroe

London: Michelle Williams has revealed that she had initially refused to accept the role of Marilyn Monroe in Simon Curtis’ biopic ‘My Week With Marilyn’ without auditioning.

The 31-year-old beauty was keen on giving an audition for the role since she wanted to prove that she’s capable of playing the blonde bombshell.

However, Curtis, who had asked Williams to play the screen icon, eventually convinced her to tackle the part.

“I said, ‘I want both of us to know that I can do this, I don’t want to be offered this role for any other reason than we know that I’m capable of it,” The Daily Express quoted her as saying.
