Nelson Mandela biopic to premiere at Toronto Film Festival

London: The film adaption of Nelson Mandela`s memoir `Long Walk to Freedom` will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.

Idris Elba, the `Luther` star, would play South Africa`s anti-apartheid icon in the film, the BBC reported.

The other films to be screened at the festival include `The Fifth Estate`, a film based on Julian Assange starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the WikiLeaks founder.

Colin Firth starrer `The Railway Man` and `August: Osage Country` with Meryl Streep will also debut at the event.
