Reese Witherspoon joins film on real life Boy Scout murders

London: Reese Witherspoon will star as a mother of a murdered boy in a controversial movie about the real-life murders of three Arkansas boy scouts.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the movie is an adaptation of Mara Leveritt’s book Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three.

The movie, also called ‘Devil’s Knot’, is set in 1993, when the three eight year olds were bludgeoned to death, the Daily Express reported.

The murders led to the arrest and conviction of three West Memphis teens who were released from prison in August 2011 after maintaining they did not carry out the slayings.
