New Delhi: The writers of ‘The Hangover’ are turning director with another tale of friends, a drunk night and debauchery – ‘21 & Over’, releasing worldwide March 1. The movie is likely to strike a chord with the young audience in India, according to its distributors.
The film ‘21 & Over’, penned and helmed by duo Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, follows the life of Jeff Chang, essayed by actor Justin Chon, who is a responsible college student.
Things go haywire when his two best friends, played by Skylar Astin and Miles Teller, take him out for his 21st birthday on the night before an important medical school interview.
The idea is to drink beer `legally`, but the night turns more adventurous for the boys following some unintended over-indulgence. Girls, alcohol, and mindless acts on the streets add to the fun in the movie.
"`The Hangover` did a business of Rs.7 crore from Indian theatres. We are expecting better business from `21 & Over`. It is related to youth and we hope the young audience will come to watch it," Joginder Mahajan of distribution company Mahajan International Inc., said.
While Top Entertainment is the importer of ‘21 & Over’, Mahajan International Inc is distributing the film in north India.
"`The Hangover` did very well in the Indian market. `21 & Over` comes from the same writers. We think it would make similar type of business. It is for the multiplex-audience and it is expected to do well mostly in metros like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and other such places," said Giridhar Gaitonde, director, Top Entertainment.
So, are your ready to relive a new `hangover`?
