Rihanna to play villain in `The Fast And The Furious` sequel

London: Rihanna has bagged a villain role in the latest instalment of ‘The Fast And The Furious’ franchise.

The singer will be driving supercars alongside the likes of Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, in the sixth chapter of the petrolhead movies.

“Rihanna impressed with her acting debut in Battleship. Writers think she’ll be perfect for the role. Her character has plenty of bite and doesn’t take any prisoners — just like her in real life,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.

“It’s a step up the ladder for her and could lead to bigger action roles,” the source added.

The movie will be set in London and shooting is expected to start as early as next month.

Rihanna will also be heading to Essex for the first time as racing scenes will be shot in Southend when London is out of bounds to filmmakers during the Olympics.
