Rupert Grint wants to do `dark and insane` role

London: Actor Rupert Grint has revealed that he is keen to ditch his clean-cut image and is looking for a "dark and insane" new role.

The actor has long been known for his portrayal of comedic and loyal Ron Weasley, Harry Potter`s best pal, in the wizard movies.

However, after the end of final installment of the "Harry Potter" franchise, Grint now eyes much more sinister parts, reports a news website.

"I`d do literally anything, anything that`s quite different with big characters would be good - someone dark and insane would be quite cool," he said.

"As we`re closing to an end now, we`re about to step out into the real world, which is quite a scary thought. We`re looking to keep going and find different roles and a way to escape getting typecast. But with Ron, I think I`ll be OK," he added.
