Russell Brand hopes next movie gets him an Oscar

London: British comedian Russell Brand says he should get an Oscar for his performance in ‘Get Him to the Greek’.

"I`m hoping to get an Oscar for this. I don`t want to jinx it, but there`s a real Oscar buzz around the film. A lot of people have been talking about Oscars. They`re saying that I might get one. Hopefully, I`ll get an Oscar and if I don`t get it, I might not make films anymore," quoted Brand as saying.

Brand, who stars in the movie with Jonah Hill and P Diddy, thinks the Academy Awards should have a category for hard work.

"I think effort should be rewarded at the Oscars, because how are we supposed to say to kids it`s the trying that counts, if then I don`t get an Oscar it`s going to disappoint a lot of kids... If I don`t get one, I`ll say, `Hold on, I`m trying my hardest, so how about an Oscar? It`s only a little thing, make me an extra one. A new category - try that," he said.
