Ryan Gosling, Russell Crowe in `Nice Guys`

Los Angeles: Actors Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe have been cast in Shane Black`s `Nice Guys`. The pair have been confirmed for the `Iron Man 3` director`s upcoming project, reportedly.

Black was previously reported to be pursuing Gosling and Crowe for the police drama. Warner Bros has acquired the rights to the film, which is set in the 1970s and follows the adventures of a private eye and his hired muscle.

The pair are brought together by the mystery of the suicide of a fading porn star, whose aunt claims to have seen alive and well after her supposed death.

Black and co-writer Anthony Bagarozzi`s project was original conceived as a television show, but never progressed beyond the pilot stage.

`Nice Guys will be produced by Joel Silver under his Silver Pictures banner.
