Sam Smith to record anthem for next `James Bond` film?

Singer Sam Smith is reportedly in talks to record theme song for next James Bond movie.

London: Singer Sam Smith is reportedly in talks to record theme song for next James Bond movie.
The producers, MGM, are impressed with the 22-year-old `Stay With Me` hitmaker and think his voice would be perfect for the 24th Bond film, reportedly. "Sam is our top choice. He has the profile, cool image and astonishing voice to record a Bond theme," said a source close to MGM. Oscar-winning singer Adele recorded the music theme for the last Bond film `Skyfall` and it is said, actor Daniel Craig wanted her for the upcoming untitled movie too. "And there is only so long we can hold out for Adele. Daniel Craig was pushing for her because she did such a great job last time around. "But from her perspective, how can she better what she did with Skyfall? She won an Oscar, Bafta, Golden Globe and had a global number one," added the source. Artistes like Alicia Keys, Madonna and Paul McCartney have previously sung for the spy franchise. It is almost 30 years since a British male artiste sang a Bond theme song, with singer Simon Le Bon recording `View to a Kill` with rock band Duran Duran and before that Tom Jones sang `Thunderball` in 1965.
