Sharon Stone gets lifetime achievement award

London: ‘Basic Instinct’ actress Sharon Stone broke down in tears as she accepted a lifetime achievement prize from Martin Scorsese.

The veteran star became emotional as her ‘Casino’ director presented her with the trophy at the 11th Annual Aarp Magazine Movies for Grownups Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday, Contactmusic reported.

“I must`ve died and gone to heaven. I`ve gotten a lifetime achievement award from Martin Scorsese!”

“I am so grateful for this day. I`m grateful I`m here in this moment. I`m grateful I`m here, because it wasn`t always a sure thing,” she said.

Other big winners at the star-studded event included Glenn Close, who was named Best Actress for her turn in `Albert Nobbs` and filmmaker Alexander Payne, who received the Chaise d`Or trophy for `The Descendants`.
