Spider-Man saved my life: Andrew Garfield
Los Angeles: Actor Andrew Garfield`s says the main reason for taking on the titular role in the movie`The Amazing Spider-Man`was because"he saved my life".
The 27-year-old who replaced actor Tobey Maguire in the movie series, says that as a kid`Spider-Man`was every boy`s fantasy and came as a ray of hope, reported Us magazine.
"He saved my life. I needed Spider-Man in my life as a kid and he gave me hope. He was living mine and every skinny boy`s fantasy,"Garfield said.
The actor hopes his performance lives up to the expectations of the fans.
"I`m approaching this like it`s Shakespeare or modern myths. We still want to see these stories, we still want to see these characters. It`s another chapter in a comic book story that means so much to so many people,"Garfield said.
Real life girlfriend Emma Stone, 22, plays Garfield`s on-screen love interest Gwen Stacy in the movie.
"I can`t play a character without making it my own a little bit. So hopefully it`s all right that I`m playing her,"Stone said.
