Stellan Skarsgard joins `The Girl With The Dragaon Tattoo`

Los Angeles: After Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard is the latest actor to join the cast of much anticipated Hollywood adaptation of `The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo`.

The Swedish actor is in negotiations to play Martin Vanger, a main character in the crime trilogy, based on the novels by Stieg Larsson, the Variety reported.

"I`ve had a concrete offer, and now we are in negotiations," Stellan said.

Stellan is best known for his roles in `Angeles & Demons`, `Maama Mia` and Pirates of the Caribbean`.

Craig will play the role of journalist Mikael Blomkvist in the movie, which will release in December 2011, followed by two other movies.

The book has already been turned into a movie in Sweden.

The shooting for the film is scheduled to start in Sweden once Craig finishes working on his `Cowboys and Aliens.` The actress opposite Craig is still to be finalised, with possibilities believed to be Ellen Page, Mia Wasikowska and Rooney Mara.
