Los Angeles: Veteran actor Michael Douglas, who recently battled throat cancer, is all set to undertake piano lessons for his role as flamboyant musician in a new biopic `Liberace`.
The `Wall Street` star earlier this week declared to be tumour-free, six months after he was diagnosed with throat cancer, People magazine reported. Douglas said that he would have to work hard to build up his strength before returning to Hollywood as he is eager to share screen space with actor Matt Damon in the film. "I lost a lot of muscle mass, so I`m going to work on that. I`m going to get my fingers ready for Liberace," Douglas said. Meanwhile, the actor is busy researching for the role. "I`ve been watching a lot of tapes of him. He wasn`t the greatest dancer nor the greatest singer, but he was a great pianist and entertainer," he said. The 66-year-old actor, who will be taking piano lessons to properly portray the late legend Wladziu Valentino Liberace is hesitant to show off his vocal chords and sing in the film. "We`ll see how it goes," he added. PTI
