Mumbai: At a press conference held today, spiritual guru and social activist Swami Agnivesh said that he finds the `Bigg Boss` house better than the Parliament.
On being asked by reporters on his participation in the show, the 72 year old said, “After thoughtful consideration I decided to participate as an inmate in the house so that I could reach out to as many people as possible. The house is much better than the “so-called” temple of democracy”.
One of the reporters told the Swami that his entry into the house has no relevance to his agenda and pointed out that his entry into the house will serve no purpose in spreading national and social consciousness amongst people.
The Swami however refused to accept this and said, “All my life, I have been working towards eradicating evil from the society. Once when I and my associates were on a mission in Haryana, the people said that they were thoroughly disappointed with liquor shops authorized by the government. When I asked them who elected the government. They said we. So I asked them who should you be blaming then?”
“When people will see the show, they might think I am there to give them bhashan. But they might eventually realize what I wanted to convey. So on seeing me talk about gender equality, female feoticide and various other issues of social concern, they might connect with me,” added the Swami.
Agnivesh doesn’t mind being a part of the show which has had infamous people like Monica Bedi.
And when asked if would be able to adjust with the kind of food that he would get to eat on the show, Agnivesh said, “I will encourage people in the house to turn vegetarians. They must know the benefits of going green.”
