`MasterChef India` premieres on web

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar`s cookery show "MasterChef India" premiered on the web Thursday.

It will be available on all Star websites - www.startv.in, www.indya.com and www.starplus.in - and will be on till Saturday, when the show goes on air on Star Plus. It will also be available on www.masterchefindia.in, the official site for the show. The channel has also partnered with www.rediff.com along with www.rajshri.com and www.facebook.com.

The websites will keep the viewers updated on the contestants and the show.

"Star India recognises the power of the lean forward net savvy Indian viewer and we thought it would be best to give them the first flavour of India`s first every culinary based high voltage reality show with lots of drama and nail-biting tension," Anupam Vasudev, executive vice president (Marketing and Communication), STAR India, said in a statement.

"We have tried web premieres on our own properties earlier as well and have got amazing responses, so this time our idea was to reach out to the maximum possible netizens and give them a look of something which has not been showcased even on TV yet," he added.
