Actor Chord Overstreet dropped from TV show `Glee`

London: Chord Overstreet became the first causality of a shake-up in the cast of popular musical show `Glee`.

Overstreet, who joined Glee last season as a guest star and transfer student Sam Evans, has been dropped as a regular member of the cast.

The 22-year-old star took to Twitter yesterday to express his disappointment.

"Well its been a good year too bad its over,` the actor Tweeted yesterday... Time for summer and starting fresh," he wrote.

The show bosses decided not to renew the actor`s contract as a series regular but he may return as a guest.

Actors Darren Criss and Harry Shum, Jr, who play Blaine and Mike, are reportedly being upgraded to series regulars when the series returns in September.

As for Glee`s original characters, including Lea Michele and Chris Colfer, creator Ryan Murphy recently said they would be graduating next season as they complete their senior year.

"We didn`t want to have a show where they were in high school for eight years," Murphy had said.
