New Delhi: Shekhar Suman wanted Anna Hazare on the inaugural episode of the new season of ‘Movers & Shakers’. But since the social activist has a busy schedule, movie star Govinda will be the first guest on the chat show.
The comic actor showcases a different side to his personality on the show. He shares experiences of his political journey, clarifies rumours surrounding his superstitions, pays tribute to his mother and even dedicates a bhajan to her, said a source from the sets.
Govinda was happy about being on "Movers & Shakers", which was a rage when it first came on TV in 1997.
"Shekhar is the USP of this show. I have always admired his sense of humour. His sense of timing and delivery with comedy is amazing and I am glad that he is back to doing `Movers & Shakers` `dobara`," the actor said in a press statement.
Shekhar is equally thrilled, and went down memory lane while shooting the episode.
He said: "It is fantastic to have Govinda as the guest on the first episode. It felt great to reminiscence about the old days. While we were shooting it brought back a flood of old memories when he came on the show in the first season. Despite having spent 25 years in the industry, he hasn`t changed one bit. He still is the same humble guy whom I first met way back in 1985."
Coincidentally, Govinda and Shekhar have quite a bit in common. They both started their career in the film industry in 1985, both of them tried their hand at politics, and both tried singing as a career.
The show will go on air on Monday.
