Bacon eager to star as himself in jailed conman Madoff TV biopic

New York: Kevin Beacon has revealed that he would like to play himself in a TV biopic about ‘Bernie Madoff’, the Wall Street fraudster who had cheated him of almost all his savings.

Madoff was jailed for 150 years in 2009 after he pleaded guilty to siphoning billions of dollars from his wealthy clients, including Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick, John Malkovich and Zsa Zsa Gabor.

“How great would it be if I could play myself and make an appearance and get a chance to work with Bob again?” the New York Daily News quoted the actor as telling a daily.

Also speaking of the fraud, the actor said: “I think one of the most pervasive evils in this world is greed and acquiring money for money’s sake. Once you have six houses and a plane, it is just about a number. It’s never been anything I understood.”

Beacon added that he and wife Sedgwick are more careful with their financial situation now.

“There is a lesson there about greed and it is a lesson I am willing to learn as well. Has it made me a distrustful person? I don’t think so. But we probably look a bit more carefully at our financial situation now,” the actor said.
