Being choosy has its own drawback, says Gaurav Chaudhary

New Delhi: Being very particular while selecting roles doesn`t always spell good, feels Gaurav Chaudhary, currently seen as Parmeet in ‘Bani - Ishq Da Kalma’.
"I was one of the first lead finalised for the show. I always want to be associated with a good channel, but being so choosy has its own drawback. You need to wait for a good offer and it takes time," Gaurav told reporters. "Brand is more important for me. Being associated with a good brand means the quality of work will be good and you will get to work with good people," he added. After appearing in shows like ‘Kayamath’, ‘Do Saheliyaan... Kismat Ki Kathputaliyaan’, ‘Sapno Ke Bhanwar Mein’ and ‘Rishta.com’, the 28-year-old feels that "when people will see my resume in future, they will be pleased by it". Originally titled ‘Gurbani’, which means composition of Sikh gurus, it was changed to ‘Bani - Ishq Da Kalma’. Set in Punjab, the story revolves around the craze for NRI grooms in the state and how protagonist Bani`s life gets affected by her mother`s obsession for an NRI son-in-law. Gaurav plays an NRI from Canada, an easy-going guy. On the show, Parmeet marries Bani and goes to Canada leaving her behind. A chance meeting with Damini Kanwal Shetty, producer of the show, at the Chandigarh airport, got him the role. Gaurav, one of the 2007 Gladrags Manhunt finalists, is happy with his character. "I am lucky that Daminiji spotted me at the airport. The other casts of the show are pretty nice and very professional. Also, the cast has a Punjabi background, so it became easier for them to gel with the story and the character," he added. IANS
