Mumbai: Popular reality show Bigg Boss 4 got a huge reprieve from the Bombay High Court following orders that it can continue to air on the prime time slot at 9 pm. Presenting the case on behalf of the concerned channel, senior councel Ram Jethmalani’s arguments nullified the fresh directives issued to the channel by the Information and Braodcasting Ministry.
A vacation bench of justice SJ Kathawalla and justice UD Salvi allowed Colors channel to air the show at 9 pm till December 27 while directing the Ministry of Information and Broadcast (I&B) to file its reply.
The court said that the channel could air Bigg Boss at 9 pm, provided they give an undertaking that they shall not screen any dialogue that is required to be beeped or any obscene gestures made by the participants.
Earlier, I&B had issued notice to Colors channel on November 16 directing it to shift the reality show away from the prime time as the show was offensive, highly objectionable and not fit for children.
