Britney’s ‘Glee’ episode slammed for ‘explicit sexual content’
New York: The Parents Television Council has slammed Britney Spears`` Glee episode for its "explicit sexual content" and "skimpy outfits," calling it the worst show of the week.
The group said the episode was akin to an "endorsement of narcotics abuse, public masturbation and school-sanctioned burlesque,” reports the New York Daily News.
In the episode, Spears plays herself, appearing before the McKinley High Glee club singers who hallucinate about her while under anastheia by a dentist played by John Stamos.
The council said it was worse than other television show because children were more likely to watch it. The group also slammed Spears personally.
"Perhaps most troubling is the deification of a troubled popstar into a symbol of empowerment and self-esteem," the advisory group posted on its website.
"Considering her stints in rehab, her very public breakdowns and her questionable parenting skills, there is absolutely no way Spears should be considered a role model."
However, the show received the highest ever ratings for ‘Glee’ with around 13.3 million viewers.
