Cheryl Cole axed from `X Factor` due to accent
London: Pop superstar Cheryl Cole has reportedly been dropped from the US reality show `X Factor` due to her British accent.
The 27-year-old beauty, who is from North West English city Newcastle flew to Los Angeles to discuss her role in the show, but lost out on being the judge due to her low popularity in America, reported a daily.
"People just don`t know who she is over there and people struggle to understand what she is saying," a source said.
The `Promise This` hitmaker may still be a part of the show as a mentor since music mogul Simon Cowell is keen to boost her profile in America.
"Simon is consoling her with the offer of helping him win the first series, which would give her profile a massive boost," the source added.
Since her arrival, Cole has been feeling homesick and has been calling her mother constantly.
"Cheryl was missing Joan just a few hours after she and her brother Gary Tweedy landed. She reckons she is going to need constant visits from her mum at least every fortnight and she will fly home every other week - even if just for a couple of days," an insider said.
She is also craving for her favourite British candy despite her boyfriend Derek Hough`s efforts to placate her tastebuds.
