Cole announced as new judge of US `X-Factor`

London: After months of speculation it has been confirmed that British popstar Cheryl Cole will indeed join the judging panel of the US version of the hit reality TV show `The X Factor`.

In a statement released by producers, the `Parachute` hitmaker is confirmed as a judge on the talent show, joining music moguls Simon Cowell and Antonio `LA` Reid, reported Daily Mail online.

The 27-year-old who judged the UK version of the show, said that she is ready to battle it out against Cowell in the US show too.

"I`m so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor. I can`t wait to get started. I just can`t decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me," said Cole.

Cowell, who has championed the singer in the US, said, "I`m thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat. Most importantly, this girl can spot talent."
