Jaipur: Poet-comedian-actor Sailesh Lodha feels that these days comedy shows on TV help to free tension in one`s life.
"Comedy-satire is today`s need for every one who could not find time for a smile or peace in their busy schedule, Lodha who was awarded `Pratibha Samman` and a cash price of Rs.1 lac told PTI.
"Every one wants a few minutes in his busy schedule to live stress free life and for which comedy takes you away from your routine thought process and acts as a stress tranquilliser," added the `Tarak Mehta ka ulta chashma` star.
Comedian or satirist keeps environment lively and cheerful even for a few seconds while you watch it.
Lodha, who is running a show on poets in his another programme `vah vah kya baat hai`, said, "If satire is not need of human life, then why TV news channels these days inserting clippings from Comedy shows," he added.
Recalling old comedians of bollywood, Lodha said no one
can replace or find substitute of Omprakash and Utpaldutt because their expression and style of acting were immensely positive and impressive which are still memorable.
However, he also lauded the present day comedians including Shekhar Suman, Raju Srivastava, Sunil Pal and Kapil Sharma on various TV shows revived the art of Hasya-Vyangya in a very perfect and matured way, he hailed.
Asked whether he was making any move to enter films, Lodha said,
"There are a number of offers coming on way for films... But I am busy with my TV commitments."
Lodha, who has won a number of literary awards and written a couple of books, is now working on another title `Dil jale ka facebook account`.
