DID Doubles announce India’s ‘Super 8’
New Delhi: The glitzy soiree left a mesmerising effect on all who had the chance to watch the unveiling of the ‘Super 8’ - The eight most talented dancing couples in the country in the capital’s Taj Palace, Tuesday.
India’s highest-rated dance reality show, ‘Lux DID Doubles’ announced the eight dancing jodis, who will now embark on a challenging ride where they will be pitted against each other in the quest for the coveted ‘Sunehri Taqdeer Ki Topi’, the most definitive accolade in the world of dance.
The ‘Super 8’ include Amit-Falon, Surya-Sneha and Saurabh-Vivek from Master Marzi Pestonji’s team – Marzi Ke Mastaane, Cornell-Sonali and Vivek-Prithvi from Master Geeta Kapur’s team – Geeta Ki Gang and Karan-Carling from Master Rajeev Surti’s team- Rajeev Ke Rockers. Vikram-Niharika from Master Rajeev’s team and Omkar-Akshata from Geeta’s team are the wild card entries to be selected in the ‘Super 8’. Their chances of winning the ultimate recognition in the field of dance now rest equally in the hands of the viewers alongside the judges as ‘Lux DID Doubles’ throws open its voting lines starting Saturday, 26th February 2011.
Speaking of the announcement of DID’s ‘Super 8’, Grand Master Mithun Da said, “The show is moving into its most exciting phase now. Viewers can rest assured that their television screens are about to crackle with the chemistry that each of these fabulous 8 jodis exude and it will be one mammoth explosion of dancing talent in the days to come.”

Hailing from Mumbai, Amit and Falon are the ‘Grand Salute’ specialists from Master Marzi Pestonji’s team. Practically each and every performance of theirs on this prestigious dance platform has managed to evoke the highest honour of a ‘Grand Salute’ from Mithun Da. With all-round praise, performances that draw requests for an encore, Amit and Falon are being touted as extremely hot contenders for the Top 3!
Karan and Carling of Delhi are beautiful contemporary dancers from Rajeev Ke Rockers. Having trained under international choreographer Mia Micheals, Karan’s command over Latin American dance forms such as Ballet and Ballroom are unmatched. With their superlative talent and mind-blowing acts, Rajeev counts them as his trump cards!
Hotties from Hyderabad Surya and Sneha are remarkably talented dancers from Master Marzi Pestonji’s team. With their extraordinary performances that draw requests for an encore, Surya and Sneha are being hyped as promising candidates for the Grand Finale!
Vivek of Nagpur and Prithvi from Hyderabad aka Geeta Ma’s ‘Dharti’ and ‘Furti’ have delivered one bravura performance after another this season. Be it their dance to the title track of ‘Lagaan’ or their ode to the great Rajinikanth, the two have simply rocked the stage. With their consistently outstanding dance acts, the two boys have made a strong impact in the show.
Cornell from Bangalore and Sonali from Kolkata are versatile, multi-faceted dancers from Geeta Ma’s team who were brought together by none other than Grand Master Mithun Da when he noticed them to be exceptionally better than their own original partners. So Dada has a soft corner for this jodi since he brought them together! With their superlative talent and mind-blowing acts, Geeta has huge hopes out of them!
Vivek and Saurabh from Kolkata are affectionately called ‘Changu Mangu’ by their mentor Master Marzi Pestonji. The two thin, wiry boys have wowed the audience with their brilliant comic timing and flawless synchronization. Having been nominated for the ‘Dance Ki Kasauti’ challenge whereby they face the risk of being eliminated in every single episode, the duo has fought back with vigour and managed to successfully survive in the show.
Pune boy Vikram and Jaipur’s Niharika who wowed everyone with a spectacular puppet act earlier in the season but got eliminated unfortunately have managed a fabulous comeback into Master Rajeev Surti’s team as wild card entries. Similarly, Omkar-Akshata from Pune who were waiting in the wings this entire season as standby contestants wowed everybody at the Wild Card entry episode and joined Geeta Ma’s team as one of the ‘Super 8’.
